Origins of Shiatsu
Its bases and origins are found in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) recognized by the World Health Organization. Likewise, the Ministry of Health of Japan recognizes this practice as official therapy and treatment since 1957, although it is one of the oldest methods of healing that exists.
Its basic principle is the notion of Vital Energy (Qui in Chinese; Ki in Japanese), which circulates through the body through energy meridians where you can act to unlock the energy flow or improve it if it is weak.
Its ultimate goal is to rebalance the flow of vital energy in our body and, thus, improve health, causing a feeling of well-being and relaxation.
